Throughout the Books of Exodus and Deuteronomy, we often read about Moses ascending mountains to be alone with God. In our scripture this week, we find Moses and God on the top of Mount Nebo, overlooking the Promised Land. In this pivotal moment in the story of the Exodus, God shows Moses the land he had dreamt of for forty years, and also lets him know that Moses himself will never enter into it. We will look at this scene, and we will try to figure out if this is an act of punishment or an act of love.
We will also celebrate the Good News in this scripture passage, embracing that we are all like Moses, we can know God face to face, because of Jesus Christ.
I hope that you will join us for this inspiring message!
