The Servant Songs of Isaiah, Part Four: The Man of Sorrows
Isaiah 52:13 – 53:12
This week, we conclude our monthlong sermon series on the Servant Songs of Isaiah. We will hear and study what many believe is the most poignant piece of prophesy in the entire Old Testament, a passage where pretty much the entire Gospel of Jesus Christ is laid out in detail, hundreds of years before He was born!
In that scripture, Jesus will be referred to as the “Man of Sorrows.” He wasn’t described as a “Man who Experienced Sorrows”, or a “Man who Faced Sorrows”; but as a “Man of Sorrows”, as though He and sorrows were one. In our message, we will try to figure out what that name is all about, and how truly understanding the “Man of Sorrows” can help us to grow in our faith lives and grow closer to God!
