Walking With Us
Luke 24:13-32
This week in our church, we continue our Easter worship series that focuses on the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and the way that it changed the lives of His disciples forever, and the ways that it continues to change our lives even today.
In this week’s message, we will hear the story of the Emmaus Disciples. In our Gospel reading, we hear about two of Jesus’s disciples who decided after Christ’s crucifixion to simply go home.
Jesus seeks them out, and he walks with them. In our sermon, we are reminded that Christ always walks with us, even when our circumstances keep us from feeling his presence. We also celebrate that he made himself known to His disciples through the simplest of elements, bread and wine, and He continues to make himself known to us every time we celebrate Holy Communion together.
I hope that you will join us as we hear this life affirming message on the Third Sunday of the Easter Season!
